Love Our Bodies Week: How is it Going?

I've been loving all the great comments on the Love Our Bodies Week post.  You guys are so inspiring and honest and wonderful!  It's our third day within the challenge and I wanted to check in and ask how it's going for everyone.  It has been a little hard for me.  It's tech week for Dangerous Lorraines so we are in the theater until 10 at night, we open in just a few days, and we are still trying on costumes to see what fits, what looks good, etc.  I even (gasp!) caught myself saying out loud on Monday "Urgh!  I hate my stomach!"  after trying on four or five outfits that didn't look right on me.  That was not good and I immediately regretted it.  So what's a girl to do?

Katie and me trying out our model poses during rehearsal.  Pretty sure we busted out laughing right after.

Meet Katie.  She's a fellow Dangerous Lorraines Dancer and my new extra conscience.  She informed me on Monday that for every negative thought that pops into my head or out of my mouth I have to tell her five different things I like about my body.  This might be tough because she also informed me that I can never repeat a compliment.  Ever.  She's tough and on me like a hawk but that's exactly what I need.

In honor of Katie, here are the five things I love about my body.  I invite you to make a list of your own.

1. My ankles.  They are sleek and muscular and very strong.
2. My nose.  It's not too big and not too small.
3. My collar bone, aka the most beautiful body part on a woman.
4. My calves.  They are huge!  But huge and defined.
5. My hair.  It's thick, strong, and low maintenance.  I sometimes wash it multiple times a day and it never dries out.

I'd love to hear the five things you love about your body.  It's suprisingly quite therapeutic.  I feel better just typing this post.  Hopefully I won't need Katie for much longer.

  2. Great post! It's always good to take inventory of our assets every so often. It's easy to focus on our PERCEIVED flaws. I know I do. Also, thanks for letting me know about the blog award! Totally didn't know! haha You are extremely sweet! Thx <3

  3. I love this! I have been pretty good these past days...trying not to worry, I actually wore a pair of jeans that I always thought were too tight on me, but I loved. So that is a big step for me ;)

  7. Ooh, this is fun. My five things:

    1) My hair. It's a permanent accessory.
    2) My eyes. I'm the only one in my family with green eyes!
    3) My legs. They are toned and slender.
    4) My hands. They are the size of a small child's, but I love them anyway!
    5) My giggle. This counts as something I love about my body because whenever I giggle my nose scrunches up!! :)

  10. 5 things I like about my body:

    1. My legs. They're slim but very muscular and strong.
    2. My feet. They have an amazing arch and they don't pronate anymore. And they allow me to dance!
    3. My eyes. They're a pretty blue.
    4. My hair. Easy to manage and somewhat dark, so it's opposite of my eyes.
    5. My collarbone. :)

Hi! I've changed the comments section so I can more easily respond to you. I never remove comments unless they are horribly offensive or spam. Unless I really really really am interested in your designer discount handbags. Or Viagra.
