I dance with someone who has amazing abs. Her entire body is completely toned but her abs are incredible. I asked her (maybe begged her) what she did to strengthen her core and she shared this move with me. You alternate legs and stretch as far as your leg can comfortably go, making sure your abs are pulled in tight and your shoulder are off the floor. I don't know why, but after I do this my abs look and feel tighter. Actually, it's pretty amazing what happens when I do this exercise. Then I ask myself, "Why don't I do this more?"
Do you have any secret "this is how I look amazing" weapons you'd like to share?

Oddly, that's my favorite move too! I love the way it feels on my hamstrings...(I know what you're thinking...I have been very bad lately at the working out. I'm trying to be better!) :D
I'll have to try this one, though my flexibility is still not the greatest yet. I started taking a yoga-pilates class in January and I love it so much I'm actually going to branch out and take a pilates class and a yoga class (and maybe even a ballet class) next quarter.
I love this move! It is a great stretch and ab work-out. I also think the pilates "100" move with straight legs really works the abs, though it is painful to get through all 100 without stopping. Planks are also good for abs.
Oh wow. Makes me want to get back on the pilates train. It's been a while!
you're out of control.
I love , love , love this picture of you! And your feet are GORGEOUS! LEgs look 10 miles long too! Go, Tiff!!!
@Brandi- Yes! Take ballet and let me know how it goes.
@Olya- You are so sweet!
@CHELZERS- So true! It is totally a stretch and an ab workout combined.
If you live anywhere near a Bar Method studio, I would try to take a class with them since I've read the classes are much more intense. They also do a wider variety of exercises that they can't do on the videos.
I can promise you that if J and I move somewhere that has a studio, I will be there several times a week!
I am going to try this for sure :)
I love you for this post - that's one of my favorite Pilates moves, as well. I always feel so lean and lengthened after performing it!! :)
