Portrait of the Day

Chanthou is one of the most beautiful dancers I've ever met.  She started as a hip hop dancer and moved on to African and modern.  The way she moves is like water in a stream.  Fluid, strong, and sometimes unpredictable.  She's a high school dance teacher, wife, mother to a 13 year old daughter, and an incredible friend.  This photo happened after a long ten hour rehearsal and she absolutely did not want her picture taken.  Tony got her at a moment she just happened to look up.  She would be so mad to know I've put this photo on my blog but I think she looks absolutely beautiful and real.

More photos of Chanthou and me here.

I love the fact that you always post about different dancers. I have been a fan of dance for ages, but it's nice to finally learn more about the people behind the movement!! :)
