The Future of Dance...

Is kind of crazy. No sound necessary. You don't even have to watch the whole thing. Just sit back and be blown away. And a little scared for their lives.

I will start posting your childhood dance photos tomorrow.  Submit one if you haven't to me at tiffkaddy@hotmail.com.  I'll put up a link to your blog, if you have one.  If not, at least you can tell your parents that all their money was well spent because now you are on some random person's blog.

I have to admit, some of the things I see dancers do nowadays is absolutely terrifying. They're more like acrobats anymore than dancers, if you ask me. Though it's so full of grace, which I adore!

Can't wait for tomorrow, my love!! :)

@ Cafe Fashionista- This is from their audition flyer:
Performers must have a strong background in modern dance technique, contact improv, and some basic gymnastic or acrobatic ability. Must not be afraid of heights.

It's crazy because all their tricks are centered on dance technique.

I just threw up a little...heights like that make me nervous! But very cool :)

I can't wait for the old dance pictures to start!

Wow - this is nuts! I sort of like it though. That said, there is no replacement for an amazing traditional ballet routine, etc.

Hey, hey!! Diavolo was our guest artist in fall 2008!!!! They set a piece on CSU dancers. I didn't make the cut, which was disappointing, but after seeing the insane bruises on my friends' bodies, I second-guessed my disappointment ;) It was an amazing performance and I was hella proud of my friends!!

Anyone who says dancers aren't real athletes should experience an audition with Diavolo and then get back to me...

Oh, and PS, one of Diavolo's dancers is a CSU alum :)

too acrobatic for me! But I bet it is so neat to watch. I bet though if you went to their performance it wouldn't seem so acrobatic. You can tell the dancers have great technique!

Very cool! I can't imagine moving in that much harmony with others; I would certainly risk someone's health!

What a cute idea about the pictures Wish my wasn't in another state!

Amazing! I've just seen an acrobatic show, but it was nothing like these. What an outstanding team. Would love to see them live!

This is definitely the next show I need to go see. Could you imagine trying to choreograph these pieces? "And then you're going to do some insane shit on a giant wheel of death...I mean, wonder."
