Exercise

Remember my exercise program?  Well two weeks ago I plateaued and was started to gain a little weight (read: had a major freak out).  So after a few grumpy mornings I sprung into action and bumped up my cardio just a bit more.  The result?

In three days I lost three pounds.  I'm sure some of that was water weight but that's certainly okay with me.  Three pounds on my frame is like six on a regular sized person.  All I really did was go a little faster on the treadmill.  It comes to show you that sometimes little things can make a big difference.

How's your exercise program going?

my exercise program (which consists of running, running and more running, with a little strength training here and there)= epic fail. Sigh.

Hoorah! My exercise program is non-existent, but that will change the closer bathing suits get :)

Go Tiffany, go Tiffany! I've been using the same exercise program for like four years now and am completely happy with it.

Here's a question I've been asking people lately out of curiosity...is it just me, or doesn't it seem like wearing, say, wedges or high heels tones your legs (i.e. calf area)? Or am I just imagining that (or wishing that to be the case)? :)

I can't wait to bump up my workouts. I got sidelined with an injury and am slowly working my way back...it drives me nuts!

Yeah! Way to go! I have been doing a lot more yoga to prepare for my training. And you know, I feel really great.

Thanks so much! Your comment made my day. I like losing weight too, especially now that the scale's been creeping up. Is pizza and ice cream really bad for you? Wait, that might explain it!!! :)

SUPER impressive, Tiffany! I'm going in for an evaluation tomorrow. I started working out with a trainer once a week in January and it's really some of the best money I ever spent. I've learned so much and I feel so much healthier. The key will be to keep it up when I return to NJ for the summer.

Umm, not so good. I was on a roll there and then life slide tackled me and threw me for a loop. Hopefully I'll be back on my yoga schedule soon!?

Awesome! Good for you! Now, are you saying that in order to "bump up cardio," you really need to move faster? I've plateaued a bit myself, but I'm not moving faster - I'm simply staying on longer and burning more cals obviously - I don't leave until I'm I've done an hour on that treadmill. I try to do an incline between 3-5, but I can not go "fast" ... Even though my heart rate varies between 130-150, I'm always at a rate of 2.6-2.9 mph. Any suggestions?

I'm really trying to get back into my regular 3-4 times a week tennis program. When I stop exercising I tend to loose weight, i.e. muscles - but not in a good way.

have you tried bikram yoga? If you survive the class, you won't be able to move next few days from soreness. And painful steps are great for decreasing appetite :) Oh, and 800+ calorie burn per class is also not too shabby. but it IS hot , sweaty and ... Every class I wish for it to end :)
