I lived in Utah for four years and never once went hiking, rock climbing, skiing (I lived a half hour from Park City), or camping. I am not a nature girl but I hear being outside is a good workout so I'm going to redeem myself. I'm going granola.
Jodi from If You Never Did, You Should blogged about bouldering, a harness free form of rock climbing. Her pictures looked so fun and, like all her other posts, inspired me to do something about my fear of nature. It's a pretty intense fear. I'm a city girl all the way.
Don't get me wrong, I love a beautiful sunset and a run in a field of wild flowers. But, I am a lover of pavement and nice bathrooms. Are you a city person or a nature person? Or both?

City all the way. I'm not exactly one with nature, especially the woods.
Total city girl! But my dad, who skiis and surfs, has definitely instilled some nature girl in me. But the city and sitting on the beach is still what I prefer!:) Hope you had a great weekend. You're on my blog list:)
I'm a mix of both.. I could never live outside of the city.. but I do love a good hike!
I go back and forth. When I'm in the city, I wish I were in the country. When I'm in the country, I miss the bustle of city life. LOL!
Sounds quite exciting!
I love them both...as I'm getting older I enjoy more nature & the country living!
I really love both. It's so tough to choose!!
City: good food, good crowds, lots to see, lots to do, lots to experience
Nature: meditative, peaceful, and definitely fun workouts!!
My boyfriend got me into surfing and outdoor stuffs in general (I guess I used to be kinda lazy before him...hehe). But it's always a new experience and you see the world a little differently...so I guess regardless of city vs. nature...learning and seeing things through different lenses, that's the best thing for me :)
I'm mostly a city girl, but since Dad loved camping and canoeing, etc, I've had my fair share and I have to say, there are times when the peace of nature is exactly what I need. Except, I hate stinky outhouses.
I am definitely both. I love hiking, running, exploring. But of course I also love modern comforts and luxuries.
City girl, most definitely. I appreciate nature, but most of my shoes are not nature appropriate!
City...oh, city. Although, I giggled at your phrase "going granola."
I'm both. I love a good camping trip now and then, but I get too bored if I'm outside of the city for long.
I'm a city gal...but I wish I could get out in nature more and really enjoy it. I'm not so much a fan of getting dirty. HA! I wore a tank, skirt and glads to Disney. I find skirts to be cooler than shorts. : )
so you are going granola! ahahhahahaha you can do it.
i am a city slicker and a nervous nellie, but i like to get out and about in nature from time to time. MIND YOU, i need a trail and daylight and a car nearby, just in case i need a quick getaway! but it is rather fun and rejuvenating to get outside sometimes!
Good for you!
I think I am both....I love the comfort of the city and I enjoy hiking and bike rides in the country side over the weekends :)
Hmmm…Great post!
Have a great day:)
Kisses
DO IT!!! :)
i vowed to never move here after Rexburg. BUT I'M HERE IN PROVO AND I'VE NEVER BEEN HAPPIER!!
I lived in Midway too so I'm curious where it is that would be a half hour from Park City.
congrats on the decision :)
I'm both...I grew up with seattle 15 minutes away and mt rainier 45 minutes the other way. It was perfect. I'd love to go hiking with you while you're in town!!
I like both-but if I had to pick just one, I suppose I'd be a city girl =)

I'm definitely a city girl. I hate the idea of camping haha. I bet you'll have more fun in Utah this time around :)
I'd like to think I'm a nature girl, but I'll face it -- I hate dirt. Well, I hate being dirty. I'm more of a city girl: I like museums, walks in the park, climbing fake rock walls, the theater...
I hope you take advantage of what Utah has to offer on this visit.
Such a great question...
I've grown up in Southern California where my grandparents farm for a living. I'm very close with my grandparents and the farm is part of my daily life since they would take me to and from school everyday when I was a kid. After graduating from college, I lived in the heart of San Francisco and the beauty of hte city really struck me to the core! So, I have to say that I need both nature and city as part of my life =)
nature in theory city in practice
going granola is great :) I guess I am a mix... loving the city til I get sick of it... then loving to be out in nature.
i like to appreciate nature in small doses....
to look and not participate!
although living in such a beautiful place with so many outdoorsy things to do how can you say no...
great pictures
This is going to be an interesting experience, Tiffany. Maybe you'll see Utah with totally different eyes now?
City or country? I consider myself a city girl because I grew up in cities and I like city mentality. But I'm living in the country now because I love peace and quietness, too. Luckily I'm in London in less than an hour, so I feel I've got the best of both worlds (nearly ;-)
I am definitely a city girl - I love my pavement! Although, sometimes there are rare times when I like being surrounded by nature. And my boyfriend & his family are trying to convince me to go camping with them this summer, still debating about it haha.
Where in Utah will you be? I stopped in Salt Lake City when I moved to WA and I went to a cool bar called Legends. The outdoor seating was pretty fantastic. In case you are looking for a place to celebrate your successes =)
Nature all the way. I need green and silence.
