I am currently learning a work entitled "Desire to Take Flight". The story behind it comes from the choreographer's two birds who, after years of being in a bird cage, finally figured out how to pick the lock from the inside and open their cage door. What did they do with their new found freedom?
They just sat on top of the cage. That's it. It makes me think about freedom and what we do to get it and what we do when we finally have it. When we have opportunities do we take them and fly or do we stay near our comfort zone?
I say today we take a risk and venture to new possibilities.
You deserve it!

When I was a child I had a book about 2 rabbits who always craved freedom, but when they finally managed to escape the older one got really scared and wanted to go back into his cage... Freedom can be frightening, but as you say, it's worth the risk.
Great post and stunning photos!
love this! I'm often guilty of staying near what is known to me, even though my past has proven, the greater the risk the greater the reward. I needed this today. :]
I completely agree, my dear. It's easy to stay in your comfort zone, but so many good things happen when you step outside of it. I'm trying to do that more and more (when I'm not doing schoolwork, of course).
The comfort zone is cozy and easy but leaving it is when you grow....travelling is always good for that.....love to travel!
beautiful images - and sweet reminder. thanks for the challenge!

What an amazing piece to learn. And I think it says so much about the human condition, that we sometimes have the freedom, but don't take it. Thanks for a great reminder today! And *gorgeous* images to accompany it!
So inspiring lady!
what a great message!!! :D
That's so interesting. The story also makes me think that the birds just wanted the challenge and once they got it, lost interest in what it actually meant (it made me think of when boys only enjoy the thrill of the chase and once they get the girl, they lose interest).
But the other layer that you discuss is much more profound :) It's so easy for people to rock back into their heels and stay where they are out of comfort. It gets easier and easier as you get older to just fall into a routine. I think that's a bit sad...because everyone's always saying that life is too short...but then they fall into their routine. And it never has to be a big dramatic change...just small things that you add to your everyday life that makes things fresh and new and exciting.
I hope I never lose that sense of wonder...:)
Wow, if this isn't inspiring, I don't know what is! I have to agree with everyone else in that it's so easy to stay in your comfort zone, but the rewards and achievements of trying new things and taking steps to try the unknown are far and wide =)
this pics are so awesome ♥
I'm definitely trying to get out of my comfort zone. I'm missing out too much! =)Good luck learning the work! =)
