11/11/1919

To my grandfather who served in World War II, my step-grandfather who served in Korea, to my father in law who served in Vietnam, and to all those who served or are serving our country for the rest of the United States....

image taken by me in D.C. at the Vietnam Memorial.

This Veteran's Day is for you.

when i went to washington i was so moved by all the memorials that they have. it so humbling sometimes to reflect on those who gave their lives so we can be who we are today.

this memorial is the most moving to me. so many people, and just one war! when i think of ALL of the people who have ever served i'm just overcome. by the way, i'm totally sorry for being right in the middle of your shot! next time that happens, feel totally free to be like "hey steph! i'm taking a picture here! get out of the way!" :)

Amen! The only family members of mine who served are my great uncle - vietnam and my courageous cousin who is a former marine and served in Iraq. Such brave men who I am thankful for every day.

they do so much for us -- so much that most of us wouldn't ever consider doing. we owe them now and forever, and we are so grateful.
