Guinea Pigs and Natalie Portman's Fiance

 image via

A week before Christmas our friend bought his daughter a baby guinea pig.  He asked if we could keep it until Christmas Eve so he could surprise his daughter when she came down on Christmas morning.  Of course we said yes.  Chris even leaned over to me as we were putting the little guinea pig in her new cage and said "I have always wanted a guinea pig."  He was clearly smitten with her.  I smiled. Big.  He is a constant surprise.

Ever since then we have guinea pigs on the brain.  Can you blame us?

In other news, remember in July when I blogged about Natalie Portman's boyfriend, professional ballet dancer Benjamin Millepied?  Well, it turns out that not only are they engaged but she is also expecting.
That's going to be one beautiful child.
(Have you seen the fiance? If not click on the link above)
And Natalie is going to be the most beautiful bride.

So...
Do you have a guinea pig?
Do you have any tips for a couple of Branflakes who are considering getting one?
And are you just as excited as I am to see
Natalie Portman as a bride?
Gorgeous!

Hi!! I just had to comment. I love all these pictures. I had so many guinea pigs as pets when I was younger. They are so cute. :) Do you mind if I post some of these pictures? I will put a link back to your blog. I loved your blog by the way. You can check out mine if you want. Have a great day! ~Natalie

I really wanted a guinea pig when I was younger, though I wanted a bunny rabbit even more. Now, I don't think I could have any small creatures like this with three cats.

And I just saw Black Swan yesterday and Natalie was exquisite in it. I can't wait to see her wedding or her beautiful baby. How exciting!

DUDE I love her so very much. Ever since the scene in "Anywhere but here" where she pretends to be her mom for an audition.. I have LOVED her! ugh. so good. Yes that is going to be on BA kid!
sorry had to comment on that first lol. My friend had a little gp when we were little.. her name was Miss Piggy.. naturally. They will eat your clothes, blankets, pillow cases, if given the chance. So just keep out a watchful eye when they are out in the house.

Okay, so you NEED a guinea pig, Tiffany! I have owned over eight in my lifetime, and cannot rave enough about them! They are truly the sweetest creatures on the planet! You can also adopt them from various animal shelters, as sometimes, they have many looking for homes there. Ohmigosh PLEASE get one!!!

Also, Natalie Portman as a bride will blow everyone out of the water - love her!! :)

They kind of freak me out because they're so small I worry i'd hurt them accidentally, but these pictures are super cute!

I read this article about a farm in Peru that makes all the electricity it uses from guinea pig poop! crazy.

aw, i never had a guinea pig, but i did have hamsters. i guess my only advice would be, keep the cat away if you have one. :) and yes, i love that natalie portman is engaged to her ballet teacher/ballet master. he is seriously beautiful, and she is going to be the cutest pregnant woman!

My daughter has been begging for a guinea pig but since we have a 90 lb. lab, don't think that is going to be happening any time soon. Heard about Natalie Portman - how lovely for her - wonder how Dior feels.

Guinea pigs are the best. They are friendly, kind, and loving creatures. They do eat a lot and require some cage space but they really are a great companion!

Oh, I had several guinea pigs as a child & cried so may tears when they died (I think they get about 2 years old, or was that just my short-lived ones?) They are wonderful pets - but the cage needs very regular cleaning to not be smelly.

I love Natalie Portman. Being that I'm pregnant, I'm more excited to see her pregnancy fashion than her bridal fashion. I'm sure she will be exquisite as both!

First, cannot wait to see Ms. Portman as both a mother AND a bride. Since she's usually glowing, I can only imagine how luminous she will be!
Second, I've never even considered a guinea pig as pet until I saw those pictures. How incredibly precious??
