Outfit Post: Anti-Aging Secrets

I've been a little worried about my skin lately.
I wont reveal my age
(a lady never does- a lady lies instead)
but let's just say I am more than willing to drink from the fountain of youth before it's dried up.

I bought an anti-wrinkle sun block at Target yesterday.
It has retinol and supposedly prevents signs of aging.
I also bought a wide brimmed hat so that when I'm out and about this summer
I will save my face from unnecessary wrinkle and age spots.
Although, when are wrinkles and age spots ever necessary?

Even though the hat is purely functional,
I thought it definitely invokes images of carefree summers and playing with a purpose.
Because, really, the soul becomes ageless when playing in the sun.

What are your anti-aging secrets?
(For the record, I have no qualms about getting older.  I just don't want to look older than I am.)

Definitely wear more sunblock NOW than I ever did in my early twenties...the damage I probably have done..sigh.

My SON is the best anti aging secret...this tot has me giggling like I was 10 years old every day of my life:) love that lil man.

Last week I bought the Neutrogena Wave. Im trying to add that into my routine to help open my pores for the wrinkle cream. Sun spots and wrinkles are my concern too. I'm ok looking older, just not old!

Ugh, you're reminding me that I should probably start thinking about anti-aging stuff too. Makes me feel OLD.

Love the hat! Very Kentucky Derby chic :)

My mother has emphasized the importance of daily sunscreen since I was little... unfortunately in my teen years I didn't always take her advice. Now I sunblock every single day!

The hat is a great idea! You pull off this look beautifully.

I've been on this anti-aging quest for a long time. Both my grandma and my mom have incredible skin, and while genetics and diet probably have something to do with it, I also know they take preventative measures and rarely venture out in the sun. I usually wear SPF underneath my makeup and sunglasses so I don't squint, but at night, I use Kiehl's midnight concentrate, a Korean mask, serum and toner. I don't always put all of these things on and usually just a combination, but it really helps. Not smoking, partying late or drinking alcohol (just a glass or two a week) makes a huge difference too.

Hope that helps!

I'm religious about putting sunblock on everyday before I leave the house (though I should get better at reapplying). I've never been one to sit out in the sun and sunbathe, and I'm careful to sleep on my back (even though I've always had a habit of sleeping on my belly). And I try to never touch my eyes. I'm still really young, but I've just developed these sorts of habits...not like I'm paranoid about looking old :)
And interestingly, I took a class once that said the Number One way to look young, the Number One anti-aging solution is exercise. So I'm definitely going to have to make sure to keep exercising as I get older! :)

I know Dr. Perricone makes some great anti-aging products; I currently use the Cold Plasma for dryness but it also acts as an anti-wrinkle cream.

Your hat looks fabulous!

You look STUNNING! - My only secret is to try and age gracefully, loving every wrinkle and every whit hair. Although I say that cause I don't have any. Wait until I do.

Erika @ ~TiptoeButterfly~ said...

i have ZERO secrets - i don't really do much to 'prevent' aging = no one ever believe my age, peopel think i'm in my early 20's - i SHOULD start caring about wrinkles and age spots tho!

and you, look lovely and like in your 20s, not sure how old you are sweets! but definitely you've got no wrinkles and fabulous skin! xoxo

I've been inspired to buy my own floppy hat lately - they look like so much fun! =)

As far as anti-aging secrets, my friend swears by using lotion on your face both during the day and at night. She's in her later 30's and I had no idea she was even IN her 30's! She looks pretty great. So following her advice I went straight to the store and bought night cream =) My mom also recommends having a facial every few months & claims you'll really see a difference when you're older..

Haha, Asian genes? ;) just kidding. I avoid the sun (not on purpose, more because I'm not able to get out to enjoy it), wear moisturizer everyday. I need to start using sunscreen though...

lol ok for real you are so beautiful! thinking ahead is never a bad idea.. but something tells me {even if you are being a secretive lady} you are thinking WAY ahead lol

i love a good summer hat! i've been looking for one of those lately. i think my secrets will revolve mostly around using plenty of sunblock in the sunshine. i'm not used to doing that after living in san francisco all those years {fog was such a friend to my skin}, but now that we're in hot LA, i'm very conscious of my fair skin.

get out your pen and paper:

a few times a week at bedtime I use a retinol resurfacing complex + advanced firming complex to renew and firm skin.

in morning and at night i've started (one week in) using clinique's even better clinical which evens skin tone and removes any dark spots (i have 2 by my eye and they need to buzz off!!)

in the evening i use 100% pure nourishing facial oil on skin and decolletage- paraben free and absolutely the best product ever. i could not live without.

in day time i was using olay regenerist spf 15moisturizer, but have switched to 100% pure argan oil hydration SPF30. it's been a week and i've seen a noticeable difference in my skin.

also use around the eyes AM - intensive eye therapy creme

eyes PM - vaseline lightly dotted around outer areas. i am not in my 20's and i do not have crow's feet. word.

aaaaand now i'm sure you think i'm insane :)

I am becoming equally obsessed about my skin now I'm getting frightening close to 30! All about the wide rimmed hats for me too now ;)

You look gorge, and I love your outfit too!

I don't really have any anti-aging secrets. No secrets anyway, just the regular stuff that everyone talks about - moisturizer, sunblock, the usual.

You are stunning, and your skin looks divine. That said, a little more love and care never hurt! I've been a high SPF daily devotee for years, and it keeps my very fair skin protected, although I have plenty of freckles anyway. That, and plenty of water!

...did you catch that hat?!
I've been using 'save me' by Philosophy twice a week~ daily use would be too strong on my skin! luv it...my pores are getting smaller!
But my hips are not~ dang!!

Giving up tanning is my number one anti aging tip!

drollgirl said...

you look adorable! and i am pretty sure you are very young. it is VERY SMART to try and take care of the skin at an early age. the sun is fun and all, but it sure can be cruel to the skin!

i will not tell you about my latest aging issue (ARGH! they are hitting me fast and furious lately), but BOY are they frustrating. my face is changing, and not for the better. wah! time to see a dermatologist and see what they recommend for my latest wackadoo issue.

p.s. retin a is rad. i used to use it years ago, and i think i need to get back on that stuff!

SabinePsynopsis said...

Oh Tiffany, at 24 you really shouldn't worry about aging... Especially since you do not need to AT ALL! Nonetheless a hat is always a great idea. Now, do you really want to know my desperate measures? Okay...
Every anti-aging cream and serum from clinique and aesop, internally astaxanthin, alpha lipoic acid, loads of antioxidants, rhodiola, ah yes, heaps of berries and always, always sun cream!

Stay away from the sun!!!! Huge no no. It causes pigmentation and wrinkles like crazy! And I love SKII ;)

The hat is fabulous! OK so here's my secret. You know I work in the beauty industry, right? Well I get to try all of the latest anti-aging technology. The bad thing is that I do lay out in the sun on vacation so I'm putting all of these potions to the test. Let's see how long it lasts. I fear I'm tempting fate :)

But the truth of the matter is that retinol is the workhorse of anti-aging. All dermatologists, even plastic surgeons agree so you're on the right path. And the hat is working it's magic too :) xoxo

I don't know why we don't reveal our age I mean in the end it is just a number isn't it ?

I wish I wore sunblock in my teens. We were just dumb. Paying for it now. I think retinol and sunblock is the way to go and your skin looks amazing by the way! You are adorable. xo

Your dress is stunning!! I wear sunblock and I try to wash my face everyday. =)

Brandi {not your average ordinary} said...

I wear a lot of sunblock and try to minimize my time in the sun. That's my biggest secret. And I try not scrunch up my forehead when I worry. Actually, I just try not to worry or stress -- it all takes its toll. There are some wrinkles you can't avoid, like smile lines, but why try to get rid of something as beautiful as those?

Connie @ SogniESorrisi said...

The main thing I do is cross my fingers and pray really hard that I won't have too many wrinkles in the years that come lol

You look pretty young especially in that first photo of you smiling. =) My secret is to drink at least 15 glasses of water a day, sleeping early, and taking vitamin E. =) Oh and trying to stay positive and happy does wonders, a worried heart adds wrinkles to the face.
