Part of the choreographic process as a dancer with Dangerous Lorraines Dance Theater was considering and reconsidering what was in our hearts.
It was a process.
My heart nearly skipped a beat when it saw these beauties from Martha Stewart.
One of the ways we would undergo this process was a technique created by choreographer Liz Lerman.
We would simply write down our reaction to the phrase my heart beats faster when...
As someone who seeks inspiration daily,
I thought I would share with you today's reaction.
My heart beats faster when...
~I see pretty sweets on a decorated table~
~I'm in the wings and about to go on stage~
~A certain song comes on the radio~
~There's a sale at Williams Sonoma~
~I see Mr. Branflake's car in the driveway~
~I see beautiful photography~
~Someone says something that touches my heart immediately~
~Prose comes to mind and I have only moments to write it down~
~I remember something (that usually means I forgot it at one time)~
~I think about the future and the adventures yet to happen~

-I come up with what I believe is a fantastic new idea.
-I open up a package to find something unexpected.
-I spot a new pair of shoes and/or purse that spells love at first sight. :)
I agree with most of what you said :) Haha, remembering something - especially when it bothers me for a few hours when I forgot something. Building onto that - finding something that's been lost!

For me driving towards the countryside. Oh Barneys' Sale sign is also one of them!
One of the first things I thought about was seeing a dad being sweet with his daughter...gets me every time.
haha I love the sale at Williams Sonoma. I'd say something I've been eyeing goes on sale at Anthro! Its unnatural how amazing that store is. Cheese, sweets and of course Shane, and babies. Lately I have just LOVED babies.

This is such a wonderful list, and it made my own heart beat faster! Other things that get me: the click on John's key in the door, the smell of a beautiful meal cooking, an enormous stack of new books to read and a really gorgeous wedding!

I get a surprise message (email/text/letter) from someone I hold dear.
what an awesome idea! i love this. a few things that make my heart beat faster {other than my ocd of course - yikes!} are: performing, amazing new music, dancing, supporting clients as they face pain/fear {aka - breakthroughs in therapy}, writing, cute new dresses at ruche or {even better} in a thrift store, going home to san francisco, traveling to strange new lands!

I love this! My heart beats faster when I see J, when I see the ocean, get a new magazine, look at beautiful photos, plan another trip. The list can go on :)

Great songs on the radio do me in too. Other things that get my heart all fluttery include arriving into an airport, the jewelry counter of department stores with all of the glitz under the store lights, being surrounded by skyscrapers, and being inside of Benefit Cosmetics- I looooove Benefit!!
