Hats, Belts and Crow's Feet

The first thought that came to mind when seeing these photos was:
Oh dear, my crow's feet are out of control.

Growing up isn't easy.
You have to get up at a respectable hour, pay bills on time and handle uncomfortable situations with class.
Let's not forget about other 'adult' things like cleaning behind the fridge and planning for your retirement.

But when I saw these crow's feet I actually had a change of heart about being an adult.

 Because I liked them.
I think they tell people that I'm not only an adult, but a happy adult who likes to smile and laugh.
And I think what's more beautiful than a woman who smiles and laughs a lot
is a woman who does so while eating her veggies and writing grammatically correct sentences.

Because that's just what adults do.

Do you embrace your adultness
Or are you and Peter Pan besties who refuse to grow up?

Aww, Tiffany - this was such a sweet post! I do have a little fear of growing up...I just get so nostalgic for the old days, the carefree younger days. But I think (hope) I do grow up to love my crow's feet and wrinkles too - because each wrinkle tells a story about who you are, about what you've been through. I think wrinkles make a person so endlessly fascinating! :)

Though, P.S. - you don't have wrinkles - you just have laugh lines! :)

I think that's the biggest reason I haven't had kids yet. I'm terrified of becomming this frumpy mom whose biggest task in life is packing lunches and the carpool.

Your laugh lines are beautiful and be proud of them! Lovely post!

I totally agree. There is nothing worse than a plastic looking face, in my opinion.
Will be back commenting at the end of the month.
¡Hasta luego!

Personalities show thenselves in the canvas of the face. I prefer to be in healthy mind and body rather than worry about the appearance of lines on my face. xx

I totally suffer from Peter Pan Syndrome. I refuse to grow up, and find it doubtful that I ever will! :P

P.S. I heart these pictures of you, Tiffany - you look amazing! :)

I always saw crow's feet as showing that you're a happy person. I've never thought of them as being a bad thing.

My gray hairs on the other hand...

I agree with a previous comment--crow's feet and laugh lines always indicate, to me, that you're happy and have a life with enough laughter that it shows. I wouldn't mind having crow's feet for that reason someday.

As for adulthood, I can't make up my mind. I'm old enough to know I'm an adult and act like one, but too young to feel like one. I don't know if that feeling goes away!

your so pretty! I love what your wearing. I feel like I might need to copy this sometime soon :)
I am soooo onboard with you about the crows feet. i think they are so beautiful on people. becuase your right, it shows your happiness and the amounts of time your smiling in your life. i will def never try and hide them or inject them. I wear them proudly.

in my family we always called them "laugh lines." they were a part of life which was celebrated because it reminded us of the joy that had occurred despite all the bad memories. there were a lot of things about adulthood that i always longed for growing up. for me, being a kid/teenager was the worst time in my life, and i knew that once i became an adult things would be so much easier. i'd say that this turned out to be very true for me. i love being an adult and i have no fears about entering further into adulthood. sure, easily hurting my knees when i run and struggling financially are not fun parts of growing up, but being in a place where i've learned enough about true happiness, contentedness, holistic health & wellbeing... it's such a good place to be!

Look at you, rocking another hat!

I must confess, I get discouraged by my laugh lines and crow's feet. I have a lot of them! But I think you make a fabulous point. I'm an adult. One who likes to laugh, A LOT. So I should embrace them. And laugh some more...

I was the oldest 6 year old at the kid table, and I'm the oldest 25 year old at my office by far, but that's always been me! Lucky for me I have the freckles of an 8 year old to convince people I'm not thirty just yet!

I have my days when I embrace growing up - when I am able to be a role model for my nieces, travel around the world and appreciate the incredible landscape and culture before me.

And on days when work is extra tough, I wish I could be a kid again, just throw a tantrum and call it a day! :P

These pictures are beautiful! Before I even read your content, I thought to myself about how beautiful your eyes are and how they demonstrate the experiences you've had. Then that's what you wrote about :) You should write an inspirational book on being happy or something!

I love the outfit. That belt is the perfect addition. You have such a refreshing style!

I'm on the fence about this one. Part of me loves getting older and all the freedom and fun that are a result. But then I see the wrinkles or see how much sleep I need and aging isn't as exciting. Ahh... we can't have it both ways. - Katy

Great post - you look lovely! I embrace being an adult, but to be honest it took becoming a mom for me to fully do so.

It's hard to fully embrace the adultness. I think it's all in balance! p.s LOVE your crow's feet, seriously.

I actually enjoy a bit of responsibility..always have...BUT I also love recklessness as well...feel like there is a happy medium of adultness in my life...
like taking care of my 2 year old- VERY adult like...
laughing like a 5th grader w my husband- very childlike.
Good mix...good life.
Can't wait to see all your travel pics!!!

Both! Naturally you are looking absolutely beautiful in these photos - not a crow's feet in sight! But even if, I'm starting to find a few wrinkles quite interesting.

Hi darling,

You look so happy and so pretty on your pictures that the last thing I notice or look at, are your crow's feet!

you look beautiful!

the getting older thing is interesting. some of it is so fab, and some of it is a bit hard. i have to disguise more and more each year, but whatever. we all earn our wrinkles and our extra lbs, and it is just part of life. i'd rather have some wrinkles and rolls than look like a botoxed and surgically altered freak that is desperately trying to cling to the youth of the past.

You are so, so pretty. That first pic of you is just lovely :) I love your attitude about your crows feet - which, by the way, I don't even think about or notice in these pics.... I just notice how genuinely happy you look :)
