Wild Flowers

If someone were to ask me "What's your favorite flower?" I would enthusiastically say "wild flowers!"
So imagine my heart soaring in the Scottish Highlands
as the entire countryside is basically covered in beautiful wild flowers.

The ground is so fertile that they pop up in the most randomly wonderful places
and I found myself constantly stopping to take photo after photo of these beautiful sachets of nature.

There's something special about wild flowers.
I love that they are not planted intentionally and will grow at will.
They are beautiful and delicate yet strong enough to grow without any cultivation or help.

And the thought of roaming around the countryside picking wild flowers
very much appealed to the romantic in me.

So that's exactly what I did in the Scottish Highlands on my daily walks.
And now they are all happily dried and ready to be framed.

That's the best souvenir I could ever ask for.

i LOVE wild flowers - only good thing about getting on the Parkway in Jersey (bad is that there's ALWAYS traffic) is all the wild flowers that grow - and u see the deer in between them - it's really nice!

Ah, I so love this post, Tiffany - these photographs are gorg!

I'm not sure if I have a favorite flower myself. I love dandelions - but I think they're technically weeds. :/

I love wildflowers too. We have a ton of them here in Texas during spring. I can't wait to see them framed!

I love wildflowers too - I'll take a bouquet of fresh weeds over roses any day :) I really loved that about the UK too - all the different beautiful flowers that blossom all over. I'm determined to create an English garden here in California :)

Beautiful pictures, Tiffany. There is something special about wildflowers, I love them very much, which is why I'm trying to cultivate a wildflower lawn in one part of our garden, but it's mainly a dandelion field :(

they are gorgeous!

i always love pictures of those pretty english gardens that have flowers running wild in them. so much more fun and free looking than the cultivated and coiffed look that we find here so often.

THEN AGAIN, i like flowers, so i'll take them any way i can get them. :)

Wild flowers have always been my favorites. I think they capture my spirit in a way no other flower does (except, perhaps, lilacs). Have you been driving in Napa? I had to stop myself from getting out of the car and gathering up all the pretty little flowers that grew on the side of the road there.

There is something so romantic about wild flowers. Like not following rules, like having the most beautiful colors and aromas. Like communing with the spirit of Nature.

Oh my goodness, I adore wild flowers. And, like you, I always snap photos of them. I love that there appears to be fireweed in Scotland! And foxglove and lavender. Sigh. It will be years before I'm brave enough to take the boys on a trip to Europe. So, I shall live vicariously through you. xo :)
