Friday night Mr. Branflake took me out on a date to one of our favorite restaurants in Sacramento, Cafeteria L15. We split a plate of braised beef on a bed of greens and creamy mashed potatoes with a cherry compote. So good. We then went home and watched Thor. At the end of the movie, as Mr. Branflake reflected on the main character played by ripped Chris Hemsworth, he said in a far off voice "It's like looking in a mirror."
I laughed.

| That's the Gatsby's chef that was on Diner's, Drive-Ins, and Dives |
Saturday was full of teaching and rehearsing until 5 pm when I said to my students "peace out!" and met up with Mr. Branflake and friends for dinner at Gatsby's, a diner recently featured on the Food Network. (Will post a review later this week.)

| My sundae was the bottom right. Fresh raspberries, chocolate cake, and a side of hot fudge. So good! |
Then after dinner we went to Leatherby's Creamery and got some monstrous sundaes. After our food fest we visited a friend who had surgery this week. He's on some serious meds and I basically have never laughed so hard in my life. I'm hoping the laughing burned off my sundae.
Sunday night we went over to a friend's for dinner and games. She made a Thanksgiving dinner complete with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and dinner rolls. We then had brownies and ice cream for dessert. I feel very spoiled.
I'm hoping this week I can get back on track and maybe, you know, eat healthy or something.
Maybe.
Did you eat anything fun this weekend?

I see you were eating and enjoying at the weekend. Your sundae looks heavenly and your friend's dinner sounds utterly delicious.

Oh wow - I want that sundae - in fact, I want all these sweets. Divine!
Yummy date night, Tiffany!
No need to count any calories on the weekends, yes?
xo
oh my gosh! the desserts look SOOO good!!
I watched Thor on Friday! I mean kind of.. I was really tired so I fell asleep on the couch while it was playing.. they proceeded to sleep there until 4a.. Yeah. I'm awesome.
Those sundaes??? They look INCREDIBLE! SO MUCH ICE CREAM. SO MUCH DELICIOUS! If I am ever in the area, I am going there.
All I did was eat this weekend. Macarons, cake, palmiers, figs, CHEESE. Lots of cheese.
I love yummy weekends!
I always try to cook some yummy things at the weekend, since I don't have time during the week. This weekend I baked muffins with lemon and orange aromas :)
cheers xo

Sounds like such a delicious weekend! We went to a local BBQ restaurant we hadn't gone to in years. It was so good - had onion rings, pulled pork, mac n' cheese and some sweet potato. After all that I really need to get back on track. :)
Mmm those sundaes look AMAZING.
I made homemade beef stew on Saturday and that was pretty darn good!
Haha your husband is funny. Sounds like my husband. We enjoyed Thor. That dinner you both had sounds AMAZING. I'd love to have that right about now. Even if it's still breakfast time lol.

We sure miss you guys! I'm glad you have this blog so I can feel like I know a little bit of what you've been up to. :) So much to comment on though... 1) I can totally see you with a Samantha doll. I was more of a Kirsten girl myself (although I never had one). 2) I'm jealous of your San Diego trip! Someday we'll do the same. 3) I want a Leatherby's sundae right NOW!
Wow now that sounds like quite the delicious weekend!!! I had a culinary adventure myself. The weekend treated me right :) xoxo
Sometimes we just have to indulge. Honestly, I couldn't focus after I spotted those sundaes... now I'm going to obsessed over a hot fudge sundae w/ mint choc. chip ice cream and hot fudge!! xo
Yum, amazing! It's so fun to wine and dine on the weekends, if only it didn't cost money! We went out to brunch and Saturday and hubs cooked an amazing meal on Sunday - I'm posting the recipe this week! xo

And I mean really, what's life without a little ice cream!
