As a dancer, I rely on leg warmers to keep my muscles warm to prevent injury and strain.
But as a lover of fashion, I think they are the bee's knees.
I remember my first pair of leg warmers.
It was a big deal.
The younger dancers never got to wear leg warmers because my teacher wanted to see our legs develop.
But when you were older and had six hour rehearsals with a lot of stopping and starting it was almost required that you had a pair to keep your muscles warm.
Mine were pink and soft and I still have them (almost 15 years later).
I also still have my first pair of pointe shoes.
They are currently being best friends in a box in my closet (along with a few choice love letters).

Oh my gosh, I remember wearing leg warmers when I was little.
Please...I am OBSESSED with leg warmers! I love to wear them peeking out of the top of my boots during the fall/winter - they add such a cute touch to everything! :)
I love them but I've never quite been able to pull them off...still, I'll probably give them another try this winter, over tights but inside boots. They have such a comfy-cozy feeling about them, perfect for chilly weather.

i have always loved them! but i never got to wear them past childhood because i was never a dancer and when i got to my teen years it was no longer the 80's {ie - non-dancers could no longer wear them for fashion}. i'm so excited they're back in fashion and also i'm too old to care if i'm "cool" which means i can wear them all the time now. :) in fact, this post has totally inspired me to start knitting a new pair right this second. ready? go!
I am a leg warmer lover. I blame it all on my Flashdance days.
Ravelry has some lovely knitting patterns for leg warmers. They're some of the easiest things to knit, and they all look so deliciously cozy!
I ADORE leg warmers-I also wear my socks extra long so you can see them over the tops of boots!

I am on the fence about them. I think it's because I haven't worn them since I was 9 back in the 80s, so I link it with 80s fashion, but forger that there's new updated stuff now. I will have to go try on a pair as an adult. :)
I don't think I've had leg warmers since the 80s, but I'm ready for a new pair -- especially since it's going to be cold this winter.
if only it's not so hot here in Indonesia... I'd love to wear leg warmers everyday... I always find them cute but unable to use them, which is sad. lololol... well, I can always wear them on chilly nights, though. But that rarely happen, oh weeelllss.. :3

I adore leg warmers. I too remember my first pair when I was a dancer (what feels like a million years ago). It was a big deal to get to accesorize your ballet uniform.

Aw, love leg warmers! I too have my first pair of pointe shoes - they were hanging up in my childhood bedroom. Last year when I got married, our photographer even incorporated them into a ring shot. Great memories!
You bet I am! I love love LOVE leg warmers, and even though they are primarily for function, I love when it gets cold enough to wear them for they are so cute :)
