Mornings are tough for me.
Mr. Branflake knows this so he tries extra hard to make the early hours as enjoyable as humanly possible.
He says nice things, calls me beautiful, rubs my shoulders, etc., etc.
But when he makes his wonderful pancakes, eggs, and bacon it's as if I am a different person
and suddenly mornings are the best thing ever.
Do you add anything special to your pancakes?
Bananas? Peanut butter? Strawberries and sour cream?
I'd love to hear it!

ReplyDeleteNow, I really want some pancakes. Yum! I usually make them with bananas and honey or apples and cinnamon or blueberries and tons of maple syrup:) Have a great day, darling. Kisses

ReplyDeleteI would love for you to enter to win a beautiful necklace over at Lilac and Grey!
I've never actually eaten pancakes before (if you can believe that). I've had a nibble here and there, but that's about it. My nephew, on the other hand, is obsessed with them! :P
ReplyDeleteDuring summer I like greek yogurt, honey & fresh berries with them.. but when its cooler I like warm syrup. :]
ReplyDeleteMornings are tough for me too.. Bryan knows not even to talk to me until I've lightened up a bit. I'm not the nicest person, ever, before then. :\
Deeeelicious!! What a one of a kind wonderful Branflake you have :)

Love pancakes! J makes the BEST pancakes in the world but they're Norwegian pancakes which are a bit closer to crepes. My favorite thing on earth :) xoxo
ReplyDeletei want to nickname you pancake :)
ReplyDeleteI like either blueberry pancakes or pancakes with chocolate chips and strawberries =-)
ReplyDeleteMy absoulte favorite pancakes are banana's with choc. chips and strawberries on top. They're amazing! It's so sweet of him to make your monrings better like that, lucky girl!!
ReplyDeletei love pancakes - my fave ones are the ones they serve at cracker barrel. i need lots of butter and maple syrup - oh, with a glass of milk, pls!

Your floral blue and white plates are so cute! Impressive little photography there ;)
ReplyDeleteBeing in college, my roomies and I are all about breakfast food. We make blueberry and oats pancakes with maple syrup for topping. Mashed bananas and pumpkin pie spice make a great combo too!
What a sweetheart! John and I generally pick savory over sweet in the morning, so pancakes are a truly rare treat!
ReplyDeleteI love it when the hubs makes me breakfast on Sat. morn! I love adding Nutella and bananas to mine.Mmmmmm!
ReplyDeletei like the traditional butter and syrup!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE pancakes. I add either blueberries or a special peach chai sauce that I make in a sauce pan moments before the pancakes. So. Good.
ReplyDeleteYum! I don't know when I last had pancakes... must been years. Love them both salty (with bacon) and sweet (maple sirup and blue berries).
ReplyDeleteWe were just visiting my kids and my daughter in law made some AMAZING coconut syrup to go over her pancakes. YUM.
ReplyDeletei had pancakes this weekend. i had been craving them FOR WEEKS.
ReplyDeleteall i want on them is butter (lots 'o butter) and syrup. that's it.
i could use some right about now. NOM NOM!
I love pancakes with chocolate chips inside and peanut butter on top! My grandmother, though, always has really delicious maple syrup, always from Canada (she grew up in Montreal), and that is probably the best thing to have with fresh, warm pancakes...
ReplyDeleteI'm hungry now. :)
I love pancakes with lots of butter and a little maple syrup. I'm not really a morning person but food always changes that!
ReplyDeletei actually don't really like pancakes. i know this sounds weird. i get a lot of strong reactions when i say this {just like when i say i don't like hot chocolate}, but it's true. i suppose if i had to have one, i would prefer it had peanutbutter and applesauce. occasionally dannon makes savory pancakes with herbs and garlic, then tops it with sandwich type foods. that's ok too i guess.
ReplyDeleteWell, I prefer waffles and french toast over pancakes (I find them just too filling) but when I am in the mood, I love fresh berries and maple syrup. And I have to tell you, after reading this post I'm now trying to figure out how to get a proper breakfast into my day tomorrow -- even if it's for lunch or dinner.
ReplyDeleteLooks so temting:)
ReplyDeleteUau, those pictures are really making me hungry, they look amazing! I'm so jealous!

In South Africa we call that "plaatkoekies" (literally plate cakes) or flapjacks. Our pancakes are thinner, flatter and bigger (check pic here http://www.rainbowcooking.co.nz/files/recipe_images/pannekoek-sm.jpg). We also sometimes make a savoury filling (creamy tuna nom nom nom), but it is best with cinnamon sugar. Plain and simple.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, now I crave pancakes too...
