Blue, green, pointe shoes, and wrinkles

Pointe shoes are expensive.
How expensive?
I've worn Grishkos since I was twelve and they've always hovered around $70.
So when I stumbled upon these brand new babies in my closet I about sang hallelujah.
(How did I forget I bought them?)
I then proceeded to 'break them in' by walking around the house in them
(because that's what dancers do)
and then I busted out the camera and tripod and decided to take a few photos.

Apparently, pointe shoes bring out the Sasha Fierce in me.
Sorry for such the intense gaze.

I won this Shabby Apple dress a while ago but had never worn it so
if it looks like it's been folded and shipped for a long time it's because it has.
I almost didn't post these photos because of the wrinkles.
But the thought of ironing makes me uncomfortable so I just went for it.

I love unearthing forgotten (and expensive) treasures.
I've decided that outfit posts are much more interesting with pointe shoes.
Well, for me at least.
BUT if I were to style this dress with normal people shoes then I would choose a pair of  bright blue flats with a nice contrasting stitching on it.

I've been busy purchasing pointe shoes for my comeback. Had quite a long break from dancing. I've missed it. Green looks divine on you! xx

I stopped dancing right before I was old enough to do pointe...I always regretted not following through. I always thought it was the prettiest ballet. You look so pretty in the green dress and shoes! =)

As a fellow ballerina, I fully embrace the presence of the pointe shoe in this outfit. :)

I certainly won't mind if you do all your outfit shots in pointe shoes - incredible poise and a bit of fierceness suits you incredibly well, Tiffany. xo

"the thought of ironing makes me uncomfortable." - one more reason i know we were meant to be friends. :) and i LOVE that feeling of discovering forgotten treasures. $20 in the jeans i haven't worn in months, an old photograph from high school stashed in a book, a favorite necklace in the bottom of a bag - these little things really turn your whole day around. i can't imagine how excited i'd be if i found a pair of expensive dancing shoes!

Beautiful! I love the dress, that color looks great on you lady! My sister is a dancer and she would be totally envious of those pointe shoes... so lovely!

P.S. The though of ironing makes me uncomfortable too. I say wrinkles add character to an outfit :)

1.) You are gorgeous. 2.) You just brought back memories that I have of my sister (not a dancer) who got pointe shoes from a friend and wore them around the house for roughly 6 months when we were kids.

Lovely photos!

I LOVE the idea of outfit posts with pointe shoes!! Omigosh, perhaps this should be how all dancers should do outfit posts... seriously! It could be our exclusive outfit post club :)
I'm not even kidding, maybe we should start this...?
