I had such high hopes for these marshmallows.
I had dreams of fun golden cupcakes filled with pink fluffiness.
I imagined the surprised faces as my friends bit into the ooey gooey goodness.
Everyone got in the tub...
They were so patient to wait for the luscious cake batter that would make them a star.
After twenty minutes of baking I excitedly took them out of the oven.
But instead of happiness I was met with deep disappointment.
They floated to the top and disintegrated in the batter.
Baking dreams dashed.
Surprised faces gone.
Pinterest step by step guides thrown into the garbage.
Oh, marshmallows. I had such high hopes for you for on Valentine's Day.
I learned my lesson but at least you were fun to decorate with.
Maybe I'll have figured out a solution by next Valentine's Day.
Despite my sadness in the kitchen, I still had a wonderful Valentine's Day.
Mr. Branflake and I went to a late breakfast at an English Pub where we ate a hearty meal and shared some hot cocoa.
We then took a nice walk around the neighborhood before he went to class and I got ready to teach.

Oh dear - so sorry to hear of baking mishap. Sounds like you enjoyed the late breakfast though.
I hate when baking goes wrong. I think there are certain frostings you can buy premade that are made from marshmellows and have that fluffy taste.
well at least you got some gorgeous photos it of it! I didn't know you we're such a talented photographer!
o very sad indeed! im glad you tried it out tho. i love marshmallows but they can be pretty tricky. glad you had a happy valentines day with your sweetie! :)
Oh well, we all have our baking disasters every now and then. But I bet they still tasted delicious!
xo
It makes me sad too, when I see something on pinterest (that someone else was able to pull off!) and I fail. I'd still eat one. :)
Awww....I'm sorry your marshmallow cupcakes didn't work. It happens...Working w/ marshmallows is tricky because they really are unpredictable...
Glad you still had a great day!! =)
Can't win everytime. ;)
SAD! But you took some gorgeous pics along the way!
Aww sorry it didn't work out. I swear baking is like a science almost.
Did they at least taste good? The pictures turned out very nice.
Awww, as long as they tasted good, i'd have been proud. I can't make anything!!!
i'd love to feature your 100-word love story if you'd still like to send it to me. :)
They still look beautiful! :)
Unless you food poisons someone, there's no such thing as a baking fail, only a good lesson learned. And I suspect even if they weren't heart-shaped in the end, they were probably still yummy, yes?
awww, well i'm so glad you still enjoyed a fab valentine's day!!! and your final cupcake is still super duper cute!
i like reading about baking fails. it makes the rest of us feel like we are not alone! :)
have a lovely rest of the week!
Bummer...but I bet they tasted good!
that is a good story to tell in a few years and laugh about it... glad you had a nice day!
Awh sorry it was a fail! I can feel your pain. I've been there before. I bet they tasted pretty yummy though. :)
Glad you guys had a wonderful Valentine's Day! xoxo
Darn those marshmallows, doing what they please! But the topped cupcake looks positively perfect!
PS–I was thinking about you last night; John and I are talking about a Scottish trip this summer! You have to tell me EVERYTHING!!
lol oh no! Pinterest hasn't let me down yet with a recipe. Maybe there was a step missing? They sound like they would be yummy anyway :)
From Brooklyn with love,
Jen

xoxo J
We all experienced this.. So sad - did they taste good? Sounds like you enjoyed a nice evening with your Valentine :)
awww so disappointing! Looks like you made the best of it though! I'm new to your blog - now following!
Actually, those look really delish!
Dude I would have done the same thing. And you know they still were a cute shade of pink!
i bought these marshmallows too- but used them for decorations. of course, i hate a few. If it's any consolation- your cupcakes turned out adorable, even if they didn't turn out how you planned!
Your cakes still look good!
I'm sure they are yummy!
Oh still looks so scrumptious, Tiffany!
Hey, you got some pretty pictures out of it, and those marshmallows are adorable anyway. Did the cupcakes at least taste good?
everyone in the tub. LOLOLOLOL!
sorry for the baking fail! i have had many a disappointment in the kitchen, and the occasional baking fail. it is never fun!
I can burn water so I would say that your cupcakes still look pretty delicious... I would call them a win!
I wonder if the marshmallows from Lucky Charms cereal would have held their shapes if baked.
awww.... and they still looked beautiful! what a cozy and romantic day you had. =)
sad! they look pretty as decorations on the cupcakes though! p.s. i love that you posted this, even though it was a fail - helps to see that other's don't always come out with perfect cupcakes too!
They look pretty tasty to me!
