Valentine's Day Baking Fail. How not to bake with marshmallows. Sad.

I had such high hopes for these marshmallows.
I had dreams of fun golden cupcakes filled with pink fluffiness.
I imagined the surprised faces as my friends bit into the ooey gooey goodness.

Everyone got in the tub...

They were so patient to wait for the luscious cake batter that would make them a star.

After twenty minutes of baking I excitedly took them out of the oven.
But instead of happiness I was met with deep disappointment.

They floated to the top and disintegrated in the batter.
Baking dreams dashed.
Surprised faces gone.
Pinterest step by step guides thrown into the garbage.

Oh, marshmallows. I had such high hopes for you for on Valentine's Day.

I learned my lesson but at least you were fun to decorate with.

Maybe I'll have figured out a solution by next Valentine's Day.
Despite my sadness in the kitchen, I still had a wonderful Valentine's Day.
Mr. Branflake and I went to a late breakfast at an English Pub where we ate a hearty meal and shared some hot cocoa.
We then took a nice walk around the neighborhood before he went to class and I got ready to teach.

I hate when baking goes wrong. I think there are certain frostings you can buy premade that are made from marshmellows and have that fluffy taste.

It makes me sad too, when I see something on pinterest (that someone else was able to pull off!) and I fail. I'd still eat one. :)

Awww, as long as they tasted good, i'd have been proud. I can't make anything!!!

i'd love to feature your 100-word love story if you'd still like to send it to me. :)

Unless you food poisons someone, there's no such thing as a baking fail, only a good lesson learned. And I suspect even if they weren't heart-shaped in the end, they were probably still yummy, yes?

i bought these marshmallows too- but used them for decorations. of course, i hate a few. If it's any consolation- your cupcakes turned out adorable, even if they didn't turn out how you planned!

I wonder if the marshmallows from Lucky Charms cereal would have held their shapes if baked.

sad! they look pretty as decorations on the cupcakes though! p.s. i love that you posted this, even though it was a fail - helps to see that other's don't always come out with perfect cupcakes too!
