Dressing for the Future

My friends joke that I dress like an old lady.

Pearls? Yep.
Knee length skirt with lace? Uh-huh.
Sensible flats for walking? Of course.

A smile to charm the pants off of old men?
Absolutely!

Please don't take the phrase literally.
Unless you're calling Mr. Branflake an old man.
(Double wink)
sweater: f21, skirt: ruche, flats: madden girl, necklace: Banana Republic.
I'm just as surprised as you are that I remembered all that.

Do your friends ever tease your style?
Disclaimer about this post: it was created a month ago.
I have been hesitant to post it because I think it's a little cheesy and a little risque (hee hee).
But I've been battling this darn fever since Tuesday so my brain is basically soup at this point.
So.... yeah.

I think you look great! I've never seen an old person dressed like you, if I ever do, I'll think she has an amazing sense of style.

I get teased because I like bows and flowers and lots of bright colors and crazy nails. In a small town you get teased if you don't dress the same as anyone else.

I happen to think you dress beautifully!

Awh u don't dress like an old lady. You're classic. Like Audrey. :)

My friends have definitely made fun of my style in the past. Actually J even has and sometimes even names my outfits. It's all in fun though.

Feel better soon, sweetie! xoxo

My husband says I dress like an old lady too (cardigans, flats)... but when we were dating, he said I dressed like a jr. high girl (corduroy purse that I THOUGHT was cute)...I can't win.

I think your style is perfect -- but maybe that's because it's so much like mine. The only difference is that where you were flowy skirts, mine are much more pencil. The only thing I've ever been told about how I dress is that it intimidates guys. Still haven't fully understood that comment.

First of all, I love your outfit! Totally sweet and ladylike. Since I am very into ladylike fashion, this is right up my alley.
My friends DO tease me from time to time. But.. living in the small town that I do, that is to be expected!

You dress beautifully!!! I love those red shoes, too!

p.s. did you get my guest post? Hope it's what you were looking for. :)

I get plenty of teasing–my wardrobe is a uniform of slim pants in dark shades, button downs and flats–but I don't mind!

I think you look LOVELY, Tiffany! And yes, my family constantly ridicules my style... seems like a sport to them :)

I call it 'classic' not old lady! You look beautiful (and I hope you feel better!)

THanks for the sweet encouragement on my photography venture, it means the world to me!

That is definitely not an old lady look!

If that's an "old lady" look, then sign me up! You look chic and beautiful.

Feel better soon!

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about hollister, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with some pics to drive the message home a little bit, but other than that, this is great blog. A great read. I will certainly be back.

Your outfit is adorable and definitely classic!

My friends (and husband) always laugh at my constant failure to compose outfits that actually coordinate--and matching is entirely out of the question.

I actually adore this look...if that makes me an old lady too then so be it.

My friends are either the fashion type (in which case I'm definite not the most fashion-forward and so they don't comment on my choices) or the science type (in which case they just assume what I'm wearing must be fashionable) so I get off the hook easily.

I think you have a classically elegant style! My husband always says I look best when I'm comfortable and I've decided his is the only opinion that matters (although I do quake a little when I get the once-overs on the streets of NYC!)
