The Shopping Freeze is Over: The Allure of Easy Breezy Dresses

Since I started my shopping freeze in September, I have saved hundreds of dollars, lost five pounds, and became less consumed with commercialization and learned to live on less.

Then I saw this dress on ASOS yesterday and I caved.
You see, easy breezy dresses are my thing.
They are perfect for mornings at the farmer's market, an afternoon of frolicking in a field of daisies, and an evening date with a hot man.
But lately, all the dresses I've seen have been too short or way too sheer.

But this dress... this dress was my perfect dress.
So I added it to 'my cart' and clicked 'checkout.'

Only, at checkout they told me that this dress was out of stock.

WHAT?!

So I emailed them and told them this was my most favorite dress and they needed to email me when they got more.

Then, to console my overly dramatic broken heart, I went shopping for a dress similar to it. But instead of finding another 'perfect dress,' I found stretchy pencil skirts at Forever 21 for seven dollars each.

I was so upset that I just bought them, hence ending my 'no clothes buying hiatus'.

It was a good six months.

I am so weak.

What's your clothing weakness?
What else am I planning on buying?
Come on over to Cornflake Dreams where I've listed my Spring wishlist.
There are some amazing bloggers being featured (like Will! Eeek!)
and I'm just tickled pink that I'm one of them.

I have a shirt weakness. If I put on a new shirt and it looks so good I have to buy it. Now it's dresses...I have very few spring dresses and skirts so that is my new weakness. But I have picked up a few here & there so I will be on a shopping freeze for a lil bit...Hopefully I'll be strong like you!

I love that dress you chose! They should really have labeled it on the website as sold out from the beginning. Hopefully your email will strick a cord!

Enjoy your new purchases!! =)

Six months is a good run. I have a weakness for dresses too - midi length ones.

Holy wow, your freeze has lasted SIX MONTHS!? You are allowed to splurge a bit after that!

lol..........I think we have all been there. I always cave on cute little jackets. I buy a lot at F21, so they are not that expensive, but still it gets a little out of control sometimes. The funniest part is that I tend to run hot most of the time, so as soon as we get somewhere off they go! :)

That dress is screaming your name! Hope you're able to get one similar to it or that it comes back in stock soon. Oh and too funny because I bought 4 of the stretch pencil skirts at F21 a few weeks ago, I mean who can beat $7 for a skirt!?!, and I'm wearing one for the first time today. :) xoxo

That is good that you were able to last 6 months. And that is a steal for pencil skirts! I'd say definitely worth breaking the shopping hiatus! =)

Six months is not a weakness! And what is it with the short hemlines these days? I would jump on a pretty appropriate length dress too!

Super excited to break out the easy, breezy spring and summer dresses! Yay! I have to say I'm a huge dress girl during those summers and maxi dresses are often my weakness with fun bangles and a great bag...oh and I really do love bringing lighter weight scarves through the season too for a pop of color! Eeek! :)

I hope they get in bet in stock because the dress would be absolutely purrrrfect on you, Tiffany!
As I've only started my shopping freeze now I'll have to search in my clothes trunk for an easy-breezy dress, there should be some nice ones.

That dress is really pretty. Hopefully they contact you when it is available again and give you a discount for the inconvenience!

My weakness?? I like pretty and luxe. So while in Arizona, I went shopping for business clothes (no fun). After finding what I needed, I also came across the most perfect blue sheath dress with beige polka dots. So. pretty. The shape was perfect for me. It fits in with my style. I had to have it.

Did I really need another dress? Don't I already have LOTS of dresses I rarely wear (well, my excuse is that there is still snow on the ground..). But I had to have THIS dress. And now it hangs in my closet, waiting for the perfect occasion (I've got two upcoming ones in mind). Oh bother.

HUGE BUMMER!!! it is such a cute dress!

i love dresses, too. they are my favorite thing to wear (i am sure that comes as a shocker), particularly in the warm weather!

sometimes i just load up my cart on-line and then don't make a purchase. i do this a lot. i have $400+ in one cart, and $200+ in another cart. lol. i cannot afford to buy all of that stuff, but i either whittle it down slowly, or don't buy at all. goofy, i know!

Wow, six months? That is impressive! I have to admit, that would be really hard for me. But it would also be really good for me. The longest I've gone is probably two months.

aw, you are still too cute. i'm impressed you even made it 6 months. i am a weakling myself. ;)
