French Toast Lovers

The first meal I ever cooked for Mr. Branflake was French Toast.
It was during the summer we fell in love and I went all out:
I sliced the berries, cut the bread in diagonals, and dusted it all with powdered sugar.
Boy, I sure did want to impress that man!
Little did I know, it was the first of thousands of times I would cook for him.

Tuesday morning (on our 8th anniversary) I recreated the meal as a little surprise.

I'm not a fan of fruit, but when strawberries are as shiny and juicy as this you can't pass them up.

I made the breakfast extra special with crispy bacon and orange juice in fancy cups.

It was a perfect way to start our eighth year together.

Are you a French Toast lover?
How do you cook yours?
(I like a dash of vanilla and some cream in the batter)
Side Note:
If you ever go out to breakfast with Mr. Branflake,
he'll 99% of the time order French Toast.

I was never a huge fan of french toast, but it's grown on me a bit over the years. Your plate looks yummy!

I get french toast a lot when I'm at work and I love to sprinkle cinnamon sugar on it after I've smeared butter on it. SO good.

Dang it tiffany.
I made french taost THIS morning! I forgot the vanilla! That's why it tasted different. We used real maple syrup though, which covered up the mistake, I think.
Mo usually requests waffles. But since we already had them this week, he decided french toast. (He gets to pick, since today is Laser-Mo's-eyes-day!)

Yum yum! Have you seen the recipes for oven baked french toast? Basically, you make it the night before, let it soak (mingle tingle, flavors!) overnight and bake in the morning. I've wanted to try it, but I haven't had the occasion yet.

I like to add nutmeg and cinnamon to the batter. I also make a ginger chai peach sauce to serve with it. SO GOOD.

This is so sweet! John and I don't usually eat sweet breakfasts, but when we do, it's either a chocolate croissant on the run or a big brioche french toast feast!

French Toast or Waffles. It's the hardest decision of my life on a daily basis.

How adorable! J and I used to make French Toast all the time but I haven't done it in years. I think that might change this weekend thanks to these photos :) xoxo

Awwwww, SO sweet!

Our latest obsession is french toast made with Greenlees Cinnamon Bread. OMG, sooo amazingly delish.

I never use powdered sugar, but it's such a pretty touch.
I prefer mine topped with a little bit of almond butter and maple syrup. YUM!
