Our Own Little Paris

Recently, Mr. Branflake and I went to a dinner party at one of my favorite restaurants in Sacramento, Piatti. It's an Italitan restaurant but the outside courtyard reminds me of romantic strolls in Paris.

The dinner was lovely, the host ordering three of every appetizers on the menu, served with the most delicious bread known to man.

Throughout the night I sipped on a pomegranate, ginger, and lemon mocktail and chatted about everything from intellectual property rights to Dora the Explorer (we had some parents in the room).

As it hovered around midnight and the party dispersed,
Mr. Branflake and I walked around this charming part of Sacramento and took a few photos.

I'm convinced that there would be more smiles and less crime in the world if all trees were covered in fairy lights.

Truth be told, I had a hard time deciding what to wear knowing his law school peeps would be in attendance.
I didn't want to go with this LBD since it's now too big and looks frump and I wasn't sure how dressy the occasion was.

I bought this H&M dress five years ago and I thought for sure I threw it out because it was getting too small.

Good thing I didn't because I think it was the perfect dress for the evening.
It's now a  little too big but I cinched it in with a belt and topped it with a cardi.

Paired with my new favorite red shoes and a diamond studded faux leather purse,
I felt a little trendy but not too flashy.

Hooray for fairy lights, romantic strolls, good food, and rediscovered dresses.

You look so gorgeous in these photos! And it sounds like the loveliest evening :) I'm sure they all thought you were such a charmer. It was probably refreshing that you could navigate the legal related conversations while also supplying a healthy dose of NON legal talk :)

You look gorgeous!!! Good thing you didn't throw out that dress. I've been holding onto a few things that I hope one day to fit back into. Now you've inspired me to hold onto them for a bit longer. :)

And love that place. It does look like Paris. Lights do make everything better, don't they? xoxo

I love everything about these pictures--your outfit (you are gorgeous!) the restaurant (I must go there--I love Paris!), the lights, everything.

I'm guessing Chris told you our news. I hope we can hang out again soon. Maybe go to this restaurant! :)

You a so beautiful!!

I also have a little place here in Denver that is a reminder of Paris, it is a French restaurant that two Frenchman opened up here, so I get the full experience with thier accents and French menu, the decor, tables, everything!! I always go when I miss Paris ( okay that. Is more often then not) lol!!

Sounds like you all had a wonderful night, and it really is the simplicities that make Life so special!

Wow what a heavenly stroll through imaginary Paris, and yes the world would be a gentler place for all of us if fairy lights streamed around us... Like they do for Lady Galadriel of the Woods in Lord of the Rings :)
