Tapas Dinner Party (with recipes)

Every few months my friends and I have thematic dinner parties.
The first one was Thai, then we had French, Irish, Moroccan, and a few others I can't remember.
This past weekend we had a Tapas dinner party and it was amazing.
A big thank you to Heidi for her hospitality and delicious food and a huge thank you to Stacy for making the flakiest empanadas I've ever had.

When we walked in, Mr. Darcy was making a fool of himself.
Lizzy told him to put his money where his mouth was.
And Heidi was in the kitchen being awesome.

gazpacho, shrimp, meatballs, non-alcoholic sangria (it was so good!)

Empanadas and ham and cheese croquettes.

For dessert, Heidi went decidedly American and bought the most delicious cupcakes from Icing on the Cupcake. My favorite was the root beer one with the darling straw sticking out. So cute and delicious!

Are you a Tapas lover like me?
The last time I had it was in London with Sabine. Such great memories on the Thames!

Recipes:
Croquettes (she used ham and replaced Spanish Paprika for the Saffron)

What a veritable feast this is. I wish we had more of a social life, I'd love to hang out with chums like this.

oh they look like gambas pil pil, my favourite thing and I would die for patatas bravas. Properly good tapas are the best! your friend's table looks amazing - i thought it was a picture from an interior living type magazine!

I'm absolutely dying! And good thing it's lunch time too. Tapas is my favorite. Now to try to find a restaurant around here. If I can't, I'm definitely going for dinner :) xoxo

I'm big time on tapas... But authentic Spanish tapas... Not small dishes calling themselves tapas... Haha!!! Thanks for your message on Friday, we do have to get together at some point!

tapas are Bryan & my go to for a date nite meal. We just had them on Saturday, after you mentioned them on twitter. I couldn't stop thinking about croquettes.

I love tapas, and have such fond memories of our 'Spanish adventure' - hopefully we can repeat it some day - or find a new culinary direction! X
