As mentioned last week, we signed a lease for our new apartment in Virginia. It's adorable with two bedrooms, a brand new kitchen, and huge walk-in closets. But do you know what my favorite part is? It has a balcony! A BALCONY! So now I can have guests over for cupcake parties on my terrace while sipping cherry lemonade and listening to Jack Johnson. How fun does that sound?

Now all I can think about is how I'm going to decorate it. I'm thinking twinkle lights, a little table, chairs, and a pot of sunflowers. It's a whole new world of possibilities, so maybe I should be a bit more creative. Art? Garden gnomes? A Parisian theme? Edward Scissor Hands bush art?
Ah! The possibilities are endless!

No, we've got a big muddy garden, but yes to fairy lights, potted plants, some fresh herbs to cook with and a little table and chairs, it will be adorable.

My current apartment has a balcony, but it and its glass doors are just a constant source of cold in my apartment!
my shore house has 4 balcony's - but my 'dollhouse' has ZIP - just a reg old cape cod home - but when i raise the roof i plan on adding one!!! - they are dreamy - YOU MUST add lights!!!! - please oh please!

You look right at home on that marble balcony :) And your new apt. sounds wonderful! I am actually lucky enough to have a balcony and I live in Manhattan :) It's not decorated but we have chairs for the summer.

I'd rather have a front porch and swing than a balcony myself. Cuddling with the hubs and sipping lemonade. :)
We don't have a balcony, but I can imagine I would decorate with lights even in the summer. I love having lights on outside and grilling out on a summer night with family. Love the pictures of you on that balcony - you look very happy!

Congratulations!!! But may I give you a cautionary balcony tale - actually, this one turned out to be AMAZING!!! I had a friend who rented a 2d floor apt w/ a balcony ... she was -well, she was really depressed when she moved in there: her marriage had ended some time before, and now, her boyfriend had broken up w/ her (which was why she moved, see - put some distance between). BUT she was determined she was going to make it Christmas anyway! So she goes out on her balcony to hang Christmas lights ... and she's leaning over and ... the lights drop out of her hands, on to the 1st floor balcony ;- A stranger's apartment! "Was My Face Red" department! She had to go downstairs, ring the bell, introduce herself - well they got to talking ... he was a widower with no children ... hey, they had a nice Christmas dinner together :) and became good friends!!!
How exciting! I have never heard of an apartment with a balcony before!
