Mr. Branflake Drew Me a Picture.

I have this habit of leaving cupboards open. At any give time, there's about five or six doors just hanging open. I don't know why I do it, but as a short person, it goes largely unnoticed. Except by Mr. Branflake. He notices it and it drives him crazy. He jokes that he knows when I've been in the kitchen because all the cupboards are open.

He's been in Virginia for a week, living in a hotel until I go visit him and we find an apartment where I can properly leave doors open all over the place. We're missing each other like crazy (obviously), but it kind of begs the question:

When you are apart from someone you love, do you miss the good and the bad? Or just the good?

Answer: A real man misses everything about you. Everything.

Case in point- Mr. Branflake drew this for me.

Swoon.

OH MY GOSH YOU GUYS ARE FREAKING ADORABLE!!! I love you both. Since I don't have parents with a happy marriage to look up to I'm using you two as a model. I died. Just now from the cuteness....blegh dead.

@Caitlin- Haha! You are too sweet!

I feel like someone should have cued the "Aaaahhhhh" track on a '90's sitcom at the bottom of the picture. He really loves you if he misses the open cupboards of potential concussiveness.

This is the sweetest thing I've seen or heard for ages! Don't you just want to give him a hug?! :)

This is SERIOUSLY the sweetest thing I've ever seen.

Way sweeter than when my husband looked at me romantically the other day and said, "I want to put a central line in your neck." Apparently my neck muscles looked nice?

That is so incredibly sweet! You should get it framed and put it in your kitchen :)

STOP THE ADORABLENESS! Seriously Tiffany, I can't even. You and Mr. Branflakes are literally the most perfect couple in history - it's as if you were made for each other. Like cookies and milk {bad analogy - sorry}! :D

Oh my gosh that really is awesome. I totally get it and miss all the stuff when my husband's away...it seems strange for his socks not to be on the living room floor, for example. :-) Love this!

That drawing is the sweetest! When my husband are apart, I actually find myself missing things about him that I don't love when he's doing them like snoring haha XD

Sooo sweet. And also, you make me nervous with your open cupboards and open browser windows!! How do you not have anxiety attacks?! I'm going to need a full post on your secret to keeping calm and carrying on.

You two are way too cute lol. Love it.

I leave my cupboard doors open too. But I think it's because my dad always used to tell me to close my closet doors and dress drawers. I'm rebelling lol.

Oh golly, I have the same habit!! Seriously! My ex always used to make fun of me for it. I was just a bit absent-minded that way. I so love that it's one of the things Mr. B loves about you. When you get here, let's have a dinner party -- and make sure your husband is around to close the cupboards after us.

Sweetest. Note. Ever. Seriously, hands down.

When John and I are apart, I think the stuff that normally makes me crazy endears me to him more. But then we're reunited and I'm all, "Why are there pants in the bed?!"

Gang, take it from the Father-in-law, they really are that disgusting. Too bloody cute to shoot. But the other reason Mr. Branflake, Esq., misses the open cupboards is this: reminds him of his mom who, like his wife, never met a cupboard she couldn't leave open.

Have to admit -- when I'm on the road, I often miss those head hazards.

@Doc- Well, that just made me smile.

@Brandi- we are freakishly alike. Let the fun begin!

Dang, I do the same thing! And my husband hates it! I could have written this post.

But he leaves his socks lying everywhere. So I pick up his socks and he closes cabinet doors, and we go along our merry way!

There is just too much adorable and sweet in this. Seriously--it's wonderful. And now when my husband leaves the cabinet doors open, I'll smile before I close them and then tell him how much it drives my crazy. :)

Aw, this is so very sweet of him! I'm in a long-distance relationship, and my boyfriend and I do little things for each other as much as possible. Most recently, I found an absinthe-scented candle (we have an inside joke about it), so I had it sent via amazon with a personalized note.

This is the stuff marriages are made of...

p.s. As someone who followed her husband to two different countries, I'll just say home really is wherever you are with your partner!
