Life Lately

Life has been incredibly full, exhausting, fun, and unexpected.

To start off, my beautiful friend and kindred spirit, Maria Hanley, came down from NYC to DC and we had a lovely dinner together in Eastern Market. We then headed down to the Capital for a walk. It was so peaceful and lovely just to chat with a wonderful friend. We met through blogging, spoke at the Dance/USA Conference together, and have remained good friends ever since. She is perhaps the kindest soul I've ever met. And she's famous. (I had to slip that in there, sorry Maria!)

Maria and I at Sweet Lobby! Oh, the macarons!

I love that moon.

Mr. Branflake and I celebrated our ten year anniversary at Five Guys! Haha! I can't quit them. At all. But it was good to have a fun, relaxed anniversary. We then went grocery shopping and then took a walk. Crazy kids.

Since the weather finally warmed up above freezing, we've been going on a lot of walks. I had the longest day on Sunday, yet came home wanting to just walk and chat with Mr. Branflake. And I love the flowers all around us. I admit, I do take a lot of photos of them. He's such a very patient man...

How has your life been lately?
Are you enjoying the sunshine as much as I am?

  1. BUSY!

But let's talk about you and how dang gorgeous you are for a second, ok?

    1. You are so nice! I wanted to filter these photos so bad, but laziness got the best out of me so I just was like, "Eh. It's my face. Let it be."

  2. aww i LOVE that you two went to five guys for your anniversary! PERFECT place to celebrate! xo jillian - cornflake dreams

  3. This post just makes me so happy :). I love hearing about what your up to. It's such an inspiration to me how you find so much beauty in the everyday :)

  4. Girl, I feel yeah. Life has been full and exhausting at this end too but doing great! Loved reading your little update! Now I want 5 guys... ;)

  5. Oh my goodness, how I love this! I just started a new job last week and we're recovering from a house guest while prepping for another, so things have felt a little hectic, lately. Thankfully, we've both been really good about prioritizing each other (and sleep), so at least I've got my guy on my side!

  6. Lots of good things packed into this post! Catching up with dear friends is so good for the soul. Lately... I'm working on my daughters one year old bday party that we're having with our family this weekend.

  7. Well, now I am definitely famous, since you featured me on your blog! ;) Thanks for such a fun time, and a wonderful friendship! xoxo
